About this piece
I've always loved to create, but I fell completely in love with art when I discovered collage when I was in high school. I loved I could gather all kinds of pieces of things... pieces of old books and paper, vintage ephemera, found objects, etc... add drawings and paintings and words... and put them all together into one collected and cohesive composition. For this holiday collection, I created some fresh collages for you to enjoy! I think they look a little like pages in a well-loved sketchbook, each with their own point of view. This one is inspired by the petite Star of Bethlehem Flower, in honor of my friend Laura. Legend has it that after the Star of Bethlehem accomplished it's holy purpose, it burst into pieces all over and the Bethlehem Star Flower grew from the crushed star. It is believed to have healing properties in it's oils, and aids in processing healing and forgiveness. Wild!
