I love the feeling when you're walking through a forest and you feel so small beneath the canopy of the trees surrounding you. It helps me to right-size my place in the world, as a human being on this earth – a small part of a bigger plan. I feel the safety of the forest canopy enclosing me, giving ample room to my thoughts and yet a soft ceiling for them to reach and then float back down to me to land. The little wild daffodils along the forest floor are the idea of a friend, and I think they are sweet little spots of joy in this serene forest scene.

Lovely over my fireplace
This lovely piece arrived promptly and is just what I was looking for. I find myself looking at it often and picturing myself walking in the forest.
Like a Visual Deep Breath
I bought this print immediately after reading Lindsay's blog post about why she painted it. It embodied the truth of Jesus' presence I really needed for my anxiety in this season. It arrived quickly and I immediately framed it and unceremoniously hung it in my bedroom that same afternoon. When we were getting into bed that night, my husband (who rarely notices small changes I make around the house) stopped in his tracks and said, "Where did that come from?! It's beautiful. It's perfect in here." It truly is perfect, and such a great reminder every morning that Jesus is WITH ME in the middle of the hard stuff.
