These "painted ladies" are sketches from the 1800s and were acquired from the Library of Congress. Im not sure their original purpose, but the writing on them is from the original sketches. One was sketched for the Study of Botany and one was sketched for the Study of Painting. The original sketch included a large paint palette in this ladys hand, and I completed the sketch with my own swashes of paint. I hope you love the fun play on an old and beautiful piece of history!
