I painted this duo — Big Energy and Good Karma — for my studio, originally. Normally my process looks more like asking myself the question "what would people like for their homes?" But for these two pieces, I started with myself! And it was kind of fun! I chose the colors I'm into right now — olivey forest green, cobalt blue, black (always), pink, lavender, and mustard yellow (always). I started with a very neutral background, because, while I wanted them to be colorful and energetic, I also wanted to have a lot of visual space for the eye to rest. However, although it's a large body of neutral color, there's still A LOT of texture visible in the reproduction so it's still interesting (made by sand, paste, etc). I liked them so much that we actually ended up transitioning the reproductions to our main hallway so we can enjoy them all the time. I just know you'll love these unexpected abstracts in your home as much as I love having them in mine.
