The Earth Stood Still Canvas Wall Art (Snow)
This artwork features a dark night sky full of stars, abstract pine trees and a blanket of fresh snow. I called this piece “The Earth Stood Still,” after the song by Future of Forestry – it’s a song that reflects the whole earth’s response the night Jesus was born, in reverence for the magnitude of what just happened, and how from that moment on, everything would be different. When I walk outside after a fresh snowfall, I am always amazed by that specific type of quiet, and I remember this song, and am filled with reference for this season, and why we celebrate. In those moments for me, the earth feels still, and peaceful, and God feels so big.
As far as the artwork, I love all of the textures present in these pieces, and the scratches in the sky and layers in the snow make these artworks ones you’ll enjoy studying again in again in any space you display them.
If you love a traditional Christmas look, or are inspired by the trending “Ralph Lauren Christmas,” these pieces look amazing with that type of aesthetic – rich tones, plaids, and moody vibes. They are a great investment, because they will transition you beyond Christmas through the winter. If you want to add some extra holiday touches, we love hanging them with plaid ribbon for a festive finish. I pray that you will enjoy these paintings (on their own or in a pairing) for years to come!
Note: these pieces can be displayed alone or together. When hanging as a pair, display the "Snow" version on the left.

STUDIO CANVAS
F.A.Q.s
Our Studio Canvases are printed on a poly-cotton canvas blend and finished with our beloved canvas hanging kits. If you choose a frame, the frames for our Studio Canvases are made of poly for a smooth, consistent finish. Every Canvas at Lindsay Letters is printed using archival inks and expertly stretched over wood stretcher bars.
First, it's so tedious, but measure measure measure! We like to use painters tape to block off the size you're considering, in order to get a true visual of the scale for your space. Adding a frame adds a bit to the overall dimensions, so take note of that as well.
The #1 reason for product exchange inquiries is people wanting a lager size than they ordered. When in doubt, go larger. Even if that means you need to save up longer and delay gratification – it will be worth it!
Kindly note: our suppliers can change frames often and without warning. If you are ordering a canvas to "match" a canvas with a frame ordered previously, please contact us to ensure they will be an exact match.
We believe that if you love it, it's the right choice! Art was never intended to "match" – it was intended to help you feel, celebrate, or document something. However, we understand wanting to make the right choice for your investment. If you're struggling with making a choice, contact us with a quick photo of your space and we'd be delighted to help! Contact us.
Your order will be shipped via UPS Ground about 5 business days after placing your order. (Add few more days during peak times). You can expect your Studio Canvas about 2 weeks after your order is placed.
Yes and no. What you are seeing in the images above is the exact image that gets sent to print for your art. The painting and composition are exactly the same as the painting you will receive. Some things of note, however:
• The color on your monitor most certainly will look different than that of a canvas print. (Technically, that's because screens display colors by emitting light. Conversely, printed materials rely on the reflection of light from the printed ink, which makes colors print darker and less saturated than they appear on screens). Additionally, the lighting in the styled photographs can change the appearance of the art slightly (as it will in your space).
• Lighting has a lot to do with how the color looks in a photo. Our phots are taken in studio and natural light. The best indicator of color will be the non-styled images of the art, because those are the actual art files.
• You may choose a different framing option than the image displayed, and your canvas will come with whatever framing option you select, which may or may not be depicted in the photos.
Because each art product is custom made just for you, we do not accept preference-based returns. However, your satisfaction is the most important thing to us, so please contact us if you have any concerns.
